Counselling Services in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Birmingham, Stafford & Telford

Compassionate child and teenage counselling in the West Midlands. Supporting children, teens and parents
with anxiety, ADHD, autism, grief, school stress and emotional wellbeing
At Little Lighthouse Counselling, we offer a warm, safe, and supportive space where children and young people aged 5 to 25 years old can feel heard, understood, and valued. We work with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, exam stress, and more, always approaching each individual with care, respect, and compassion.
Our approach is flexible and personalised. We draw on a range of evidence-based therapies to meet the unique needs of each young person, tailoring support as their journey unfolds. These approaches include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), play therapy, creative therapy, and person-centred counselling.
We understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, so we’ve made accessing our services as straightforward as possible through a simple three-step process (outlined below). Following an initial consultation, we are often able to begin counselling within 2–4 weeks.*
We offer counselling services in a variety of ways:
-
In-person at our counsellor's dedicated home office in Claregate, Wolverhamton
-
In-person at the child's school or college within the following areas - Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Birmingham, Stafford and Telford
-
Via video chat for clients aged 14+ years - This option is available across the UK only
*During busier periods, waiting times may be slightly longer. We will always provide a clear estimate during your initial consultation so you know what to expect.

Our Unique and Simple 3 Step Process
Step 1: Free 15min Telephone Consultation
When you fill in our enquiry form, we’ll gently guide you to the next step by sending an invitation to book a free 15-minute consultation. This is a relaxed, supportive space where we can talk through your child’s needs in more detail and explore whether we’re the right fit for your family.
If you’d prefer, you’re very welcome to give us a call 01922 663644—if we’re available, we can often carry out the consultation there and then, making things as easy and convenient as possible for you.
Step 2: Initial Assessment
After your consultation, the next step is to arrange an initial assessment. This is usually carried out over the phone with parents or guardians only, as it gives you the space to speak openly and comfortably.
During this conversation, we’ll explore your child’s difficulties in more depth, work through some questionnaires together, and begin to build a thoughtful, personalised clinical treatment plan to support your child moving forward.
Step 3: Counselling
Following the assessment, we carefully match your child with the counsellor who is best suited to support their needs. Your allocated counsellor will then be in touch to arrange the first session and answer any initial questions you may have.
Every client's journey is unique, but many begin to experience meaningful, positive changes within around 6-12 sessions.
